We need a larger variety of restaurants to draw diverse visitors. Canadian food, Italian food, American food, Chinese food, coffee shops, … and a weekend market.

No more ice cream shops and Indian food please!

Extend dogs on promenade hours!! Locals that live here have dogs that are more respectable of the space than tourists

More variety of food. Seems like south asian/Indian food taking over marine dr. Would love to see different styles of restaurants/breweries/donut shop.

Look at examples such as Westminster Quay and Granville Island, which appear to service locals and tourists. This means including higher density housing to support a diversity of businesses that reflect local cultures. White Rock is changing and we want local businesses to reflect the richness of our communities. Only then will we see the local businesses not just survive but thrive on a year round basis.

Get inspired by Stevenson or Fort Langley. The money laundering is so obvious.
Too many Indian restaurants and ice cream shops. Exteriors outdated and not taken care off. To many rats.
Show pride and invest.
It has so much potential and it looks outdated and in bad shape.
Why are dogs not allowed all year?
Take pride in the City. Parking is so overpriced.

A Rec Room style arcade / pub business that caters to various ages . Pure Bread bakery. Allow a casual restaurant / pub to open right along the water at the far end of west beach with a nice big patio so people can enjoy the view and location without having to experience it with cars driving past.

I would like more parking up the hill. It could be cheaper. I would spend money on businesses if parking wasn’t so expensive. I would like to see more Canadian souvenir shops. When friends come to town and stay with me, there is only one place to go.
More restaurants to have Happy Hour, I would love it!

Plain and simply. Diversify the whiterock - marine drive strip, no restaurant or location is “bad” but too many of one is simply not the answer. I believe nobody would disagree with this statement; Creating a “fun for everyone” type of environment, pleasing all locals and tourists!

Fort Langley has done a wonderful job with restaurants, boutiques, breweries and bakeries
Foot traffic is amazing and dog friendly
White Rock has failed miserably with the natural landscape it has and has to do better

A produce market would be great! More diversity in types of restaurants…..we are saturated in South East Asian food right now.
Bakery would also be nice.
Put a police office too. One that has police presence 24/7

A goooood pizza by the slice place would probably do well. Maybe an arcade and VR place. A whale watching tour company. More fun stuff to do that makes you want to go. But combat the parking situation and the groups that rudely play their music at ridiculous volumes.

I would like the waterfront businesses to be ethnically varied as a representation of Canada, since White Rock is or has been known to be a touristic spot that draws in tourists from all over the world. I don't like that there is too many Indian Food restaurants on the waterfront. It misrepresents the multi-cultured Canadian culture. I come from Quebec, and I don't see any cultural food from Quebec.

If you want a suggestion, that would be a good start. Get some Quebec culture down there. Maybe every Canadian province can be represented by a restaurant with a culinary favorite from each province.

That's my idea.

Would love to see more variety of restaurants on the white rock strip!! Why are there so many of the same kind of restaurants, particularly Indian restaurants! We do not need 10 Indian restaurants! Who is approving this? Why can’t there be a rule against all of the same kind of establishments? I love all different kinds of food and would love to be able to go to the beach and have a choice and variety.

Born and raised in true white rock on everall st. Not the same place I grew up in. It’s sad. The city has wrecked the appeal of the beach with all the Indian restaurants. It’s really sad.

Less Indian Restaurants; Remove the noisy railway- divert it. It spoils the seafront! Stop the noisy revved up motorbikes along Marine Dr. can barely have a conversation on a patio. The small sign at the west end isn’t that visible regarding noise bylaw. New pier would be nice. I paid $10 in parking just to sit on the beach for 2 hrs. Parking fees are a deterrent to spend more money in the restaurants. Get rid of parking fees to encourage visits to the local businesses. Too many ice cream shops! A nice, classy lounge in an intimate setting would be nice for adults to enjoy a drink and appies. More benches on pier especially at the far end near dock.
Families tend to spread out across width of pier and one cannot get by them. Walk on the RHS when entering the pier and walk on the opposite side on the way back. Maybe a sign! Inconsiderate ppl especially on the weekends.
Generally clean up the frontages of some of the businesses. Marine Drive looks kinda tacky in some ways. Pity!

More charm in the architecture and interior design of the retail and restaurants. Less glass and modern look, bring back the feeling of small coast beach. More seafood options. And green areas.
