Pickleball Needs Assessment
The City of White Rock in partnership with the White Rock Pickleball Association is undertaking a Pickleball Needs Assessment to better understand current and future community needs related to pickleball.
Through community consultation, this study will gather input on community needs, preferences, and levels of support for potential future facility projects.
Project Background
The City of White Rock currently operates eight outdoor pickleball courts at Centennial Park. However, many White Rock residents rely heavily on neighbouring municipalities for pickleball specific programs.
As a result, demand among White Rock residents is increasingly unmet.
The Pickleball Needs Assessment will be a comprehensive report that:
- Summarizes current and future participation related to pickleball.
- Identifies gaps in service and demand for pickleball court usage and programming.
- Examines opportunities and constraints, as well as other considerations, for pickleball service and program delivery in White Rock.
- Evaluates feasible approaches to pickleball service and program delivery.
This will establish a clear, evidence-based understanding of community demand, service gaps, and opportunities related to pickleball recreation. The findings will support future discussions and decision-making by City staff and Council regarding pickleball service provision in White Rock.

The community survey is a key part of the Pickleball Needs Assessment. The purpose of this survey is to gather information on community participation, preferences, and priorities related to pickleball activities, including current usage of facilities inside and outside of White Rock and interest in potential future pickleball services within the City.
The survey closes on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
