Future Voices, Big Ideas
White Rock Elementary students were invited to share their visions for the new Community Hub. What we received was nothing short of inspiring. Their creativity, passion, and hope for an inclusive, fun, and connected community came through in drawings, designs, and thoughtful suggestions.
In Their Own Words:
- “I think the new community hub should include an Exploratory Museum… it interests all ages, is a tourist attraction, and people can learn about Canada’s First Nations.” - Nyla, Grade 6
- “We need a BIG pool with waterslides, wave pool, hot tubs… it’s important to make memories at a young or old age!” - Delilah, Grade 7
- “I think there should be a garden outside with pretty places to take pictures and a photo booth.” - Willow, Grade 7
- “A building where everyone can spend time together. Maybe there’s playgrounds outside the community hub. People of any gender or race is respected!” - Kaylee, Grade 7
- “I would like a teenager hangout space that there would be video games, that has snack foods and drinks, that we can stay at during the night.” - Vihaan, Grade 7
These young voices remind us that the Community Hub is more than bricks and mortar—it’s about imagination, inclusivity, fun, and togetherness for the next generation.
