Introduction:

The City is updating its Official Community Plan (OCP) in response to provincial requirements, introduced in 2023, to facilitate the city's housing needs from the results of the 2024 Interim Housing Needs Report. The 2024 Interim Housing Needs Report findings was based on the Provincial Government's standardized methodology which found that the City of White Rock would require 8,816 additional housing units over the next 20 years.

The OCP update is to evaluate how existing OCP housing and associated policies can be revised to fulfill new legislative requirements in a manner that will align with the community’s current goals and priorities.
