Less indian restaurants. Love something which has good take out that you can enjoy on the beach like east beach has but maybe healthier
Free parking until 9am so people can enjoy their exercising without a financial impact
Rental for SUP like they have in Crescent

I would love to see more varied businesses on the strip. I think we have enough ice cream shops and fish and chip shops. Giving business permits to more of these impacts the success of the existing ones. I would love to see art galleries and pottery studios. I also wonder if a small grocery store might also be successful. I realize that tourist business is seasonal and weather dependent on Marine Drive. Can someone think of a way to help businesses through the slow months?

White Rock water front parking needs to be free. The commercial property taxes needs to come down as tenants are paying more in triple net expenses than the actual basic rent to landlords. Look at the Crescent Beach, free parking and much less triple net. Join Surrey so they can spend some real dollars that White Rocky city doesn’t have it.

cafes, services (ie nail salon), no more indian only food restaurants - there are 8 or 9 now on west beach alone its too much. people rave about zapoteca on east beach and its seems to be always busy, maybe more mexican or tex mex. Love Homeland and Chaiwala, fusion food and cafes. There is a total lack of fresh seafood - old fish and chip places yes, and Five, but look to Granville Island for inspo and places like the Cannery (now closed) which would be incredible in the Boathouse space. A huge foodcourt of multi ethnic food like Tsawassen Mills did with the asian food court would be great in that space too, you def need more asian food and hot pot, trendy things. Current businesses are old and weathered looking, need to spruce up themselves (fish and chips, Scoops, etc) as it's dreary. Honestly should close down part of Marine dr in the summer as a walk zone like Granville St downtown during events. Would be nice to see the new RCMP station actually open as well outside of events.

It's not about what business we want, it's about the apprearance of the waterfront. The delapitated buildings. Hold the landlords accountable for the appearance of their properties. The faded facades, old brown paper covered windows, the paint and trim long gone...repair the uneven paving bricks, the burnt out lights in the trees and improve the beach access. I watch people struggle every day trying to get their beach toys to the beach. More picnic tables! The expensive parking is pushing everyone to the East side. If council needs to ask the voters what needs to be done, in this format, then they shouldn't be a sitting council memeber.
Council needs to be much better at maintaining what we already have than worry about things like a fancy new city hall or "improving" 5 corners.
Fix what we have on the waterfront and the appropraite businesses will return.

The city needs to work with the Semiahmoo First Nation on a solution for Semiahmoo Park that works for everyone. A large public park and picnic area with a playground would benefit everyone

Businesses on the beach should be limited to local crafter and artisan collectives perhaps with rotating shows and various forms of art, beachwear and towels, quality ice cream and snack shops with walk up windows as well as well run businesses that provide a diverse ethnicity of local resident foods. One of the biggest issues now is #1 the price for parking at the beach as well as a takeover by large, younger groups who appear somewhat intimidating in the early to late evenings. If you want to change the vibe on the strip, no substance shops, tacky convenience stores, etc. I was born and raised in the North Delta area, then moving to various areas within Surrey and White Rock and still live here. Times change, and that’s understood however if you with to draw people to the White Rock beach and pier who will spend time, money and quality experiences in this area, a definite cleanup of stores and restaurants on the strip who can thrive because of the strip then change is good!!

A take out fish and chips restaurant like a "Moby Dicks", "Cottage Lunch" on West Beach side plus more picnic tables.

The city needs more restaurant and shop diversity. Too many Indian restaurants and vape stores are limiting options and making the area look cheap.
We’d benefit from varied dining experiences (casual to fine dining) and quality retail that enhances our community’s appeal.

Our sense of community is gone with all the very loud speeding vehicles down Johnston & around five corners. We need a noise bylaw & RCMP to start ticketing.Get rid of the Vape shops. They only encourage more gangsters that we see daily.
No more South Asian restaurants on the waterfront. Bring back the Boathouse style food instead.

Would be nice to see more diversity in the waterfront restaurants. Obviously filling all the restaurant fronts is paramount to give a more vibrant waterfront. E-bikes/art spaces are great ideas. Neighbourhood grocer would be great. 15 minute parking would really help to support some of these types of businesses as no one wants to pay for parking just to run into some of these businesses.

White Rock’s strip has so much potential, but high rents make it difficult for small, local businesses to survive. The City should look at ways to support independent businesses and make the area more accessible to entrepreneurs.

We have so many talented local artists and artisans, yet there’s no dedicated space to showcase their work. A local artisan shop or marketplace would be a great addition.

The strip also needs more variety, especially good independent coffee shops and diverse food options.
