White Rock Pier and Waterfront Storm Restoration

Consultation has concluded

On Thursday, December 20, 2018, a devastating windstorm swept through the City of White Rock that resulted in extensive damage to the Pier, waterfront and boats along the marina. BC Hydro reported it to be the most damaging in the Crown utility’s history.

We understand the significant value that the Promenade, waterfront and Pier bring to our community which is why we have created a Storm 2018 project page that provides you with the latest updates.

It's lovely as it is, now that it's been repaired. Slowly, over time, the rest of the pier will be reinforced as the new section is. Do that as planned.

I have greatly miss not being able to use the EAst Beach promenade. I hope that the new surface will be left smooth and easy for people to walk on rather than the bricks which move slightly over time.

Breakwater failure caused this damage. Immediate upgrade must occur to prevent another catastrophe like this. Oh and what about the marina rebuild?
